Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Forty years ago, on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday, a group of interfaith leaders from across the region opened the doors of the Capital Area Food Bank. It was a privilege to join our community on January 21st in honoring Dr. King’s life and legacy as we kicked off our 40th year – and as we strive to do every day. We’re deeply proud to serve this community, and never more so than when we’re reminded that the roots of that service lie in the pursuit of justice.

CAFB CEO Radha Muthiah joined a panel of thinkers and leaders to discuss how equity and good food for all go hand-in-hand as part of MLK International Day of Service panel hosted by teh Xi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
CAFB staff marched alongside our community through Anacostia as part of the MLK Holiday Parade. The CAFB was honored to be a sponsor of this great event!
Parade attendees got a sneak peek of Curbside Groceries the day before it opened its doors for business in neighborhoods across Ward 8!
CAFB staff were on the move celebrating Dr. King. whose legacy we honor as part of our mission every day.
