We Are Moving

By Lynn Brantley July 25, 2012

The countdown is on! In just a few days, the Capital Area Food Bank will be fully settled into its new food distribution center located at 4900 Puerto Rico Avenue, NE Washington, DC 20017. The food bank’s new home – located less than a mile from the current facility – will address an urgent need…over 680,000 residents across the Washington metro region are hungry or at risk of hunger. Food bank research, supported by national trend data, and recent studies shows that hunger-related issues will be prevalent for many years to come. The food bank’s new facility will address the dramatic increase in hunger more efficiently and effectively.
During the food bank’s move process, please take a moment to read about key dates and changes that will occur.

  • Tuesday, July 31: The food bank will re-open for regular business hours at its new location 4900 Puerto Rico Avenue, NE, Washington, DC 20017.
