Super Bowl Champion, Super Volunteer

By Shamia Holloway June 25, 2012

Super Bowl 44 Champion, Cleveland Browns Free Safety and friend of the food bank, Usama Young, took a break from his busy schedule to help sort and pack food at the food bank’s Northeast facility. He even brought along extra pairs of hands – Prince George’s County Public School students. Young and the students packed bags for the CAFB’s Weekend Bag Program, which provides children weekly with food when they don’t have access to school meals.
Young returns to his hometown for his fourth annual Stay Focused Football & Cheer Camp, which is part of the Usama Young Foundation, and includes a series of events for families and youth. Young’s foundation is based in the Washington metro and Greater Cleveland Ohio areas and offers interactive programs to children from single-parent homes and underserved communities.
Young began volunteering last year and the CAFB is grateful for community partners like him. A special thanks to Usama Young!
