The Capital Area Food Bank is getting into the diapers business!
The food bank has joined with the DC Diaper Bank to meet an overwhelming need for young mothers who not only struggle daily to feed their children but are unable in many instances to afford diapers for their young babies.
The joint effort and strength of these two programs will serve and impact a vulnerable population in need of support.
To support this effort, the Washington Capitals will host their first Hockey for Huggies Diaper Drive on Saturday, February 12th during their game against the Los Angeles Kings. All of the diapers collected will be donated to the food bank.
Fans are asked to bring new packages of diapers to the Caps game and them drop them off at section 119. Capitals fans can also text CAPS to 501501 to donate $5 to help families in need.
