Shaping clay with their hands, firing up kilns, and selecting dazzling colors and glazes, local artists have been spinning their pottery wheels to create unique bowls taking on a wide variety of shapes and sizes. These artists and many of their students have been working for months crafting hundreds of bowls to donate to the Capital Area Food Bank’s upcoming Empty Bowls event.
For a minimum donation of $25, guests receive a symbolic lunch of soup and bread along with a handmade bowl to take home as a reminder of the thousands of empty bowls in our community. Please join us on Wednesday, October 19th from 11:30 AM-2:30 PM at the FHI 360 Conference Center (8th floor), located in Dupont Circle at 1825 Connecticut Ave NW, to fill the empty bowls of our neighbors.
