Over 680,000 of our neighbors in the Washington metro area are at risk of hunger.
1 in 5 are children.
Sitting down to three meals a day should not be a choice, yet thousands of seniors choose between buying food or medicine. Many parents can only do one: pay rent or buy food. Some children attend school not to learn but to get a warm lunch.
Each year, the Capital Area Food Bank distributes 27.5 million meals —which include nutritious fruits and vegetables — to over 481,000 people in our community.
Help CAFB continue its work in the fight against hunger by giving the equivalent of what you would spend on lunch, during our Skip a Lunch, Feed a Bunch campaign.
