September is right around the corner and you know what that means – Skip Lunch Feed A Bunch. Beginning September 1 and ending September 12, the Capital Area Food Bank will host its annual campaign in which individuals team up to donate what they would normally spend on lunch and compete to be the highest contributing team.
Create a Skip Lunch Feed A Bunch team today for an opportunity to sample area restaurants while helping feed residents in need. Have you wanted to try Mad Hatter’s happy hour featuring $5 appetizers? Or have you heard about Meridian Pint, an environmentally sustainable restaurant? How about receiving free artisan bread or signature bagels for a year from Panera Bread? Well here’s your chance.
Participation is easy and rewarding. Gather a group of your friends and form a team now. The top five earning teams raising over $500 will receive gift certificates to area restaurant and help feed more than 480,000 families, individuals and children struggling to get enough food to eat.
With just one dollar, the food bank can provide three meals. September is Hunger Action Month, so donations will be accepted throughout the month of September.
