Organizations selected as Harry Chapin Self-Reliance Award winners are judged outstanding for their innovative and creative approaches to fighting domestic hunger and poverty by empowering people and building self-reliance. The application is in pdf format and is available as a link on the right side of the main page of the link above. *Apply by June 16, 2008!

Scholarships Available for Full-day Training Seminars
Partial scholarships are now available to enable representatives of under-resourced nonprofits serving Washington DC to attend the Foundation Center's upcoming full-day training seminars. If you represent a nonprofit organization based in and serving the Washington DC area, with a budget under $1,000,000, you are eligible to apply. Nonprofit organizations may receive up to two scholarships per application cycle. This initiative is designed to assist small, community-based nonprofit organizations in building their internal capacity in preparation for seeking financial support from foundations, corporations, and other grantmakers. Funding for this scholarship program is made possible through generous support of the Wachovia Foundation, the Jovid Foundation, the Marpat Foundation, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard England.
*The application deadline is June 16, 2008 to attend any seminar from August through October 2008, and the deadline is September 22, 2008 to attend any seminar from November 2008 through January 2009.
