Food Day

October 24, 2012 is the second annual Food Day, a nationwide celebration of nutritious, affordable and sustainable food designated by the Center for Science in the Public Interest. Across the country, thousands of Americans are joining the movement for healthy, affordable, sustainable food. In 2011, the first year of the campaign, Food Day brought together food movement leaders, organizations, physicians, nutritionists, labor leaders, environmentalists, farmers, chefs, authors, and cookbook writers, as well as parents, children, teachers, and citizens from all walks of life, united by their belief in a better food system. The Capital Area Food Bank will celebrate this year’s Food Day with a very special announcement regarding the food bank’s commitment to healthy eating.
