Meetings are the primary way work occurs; making meetings work as well as possible is essential.Participants will cover the basics of meetings preparation and the role of the facilitator. At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to use one or more techniques to improve their meetings.

Strategic Planning using Balance Scorecard Method

This session will cover the basic principles behind Kaplan and Norton’s Balanced Scorecard methodology and it’s application for the not-for- profit sector. Discussion will focus on the benefits of implementing a balanced scorecard approach to an organizations strategic planning processes. Learn how to achieve long-term organizational sustainability!

Major Giving– Building a Sustainable Fundraising Program
Thursday, July 29th, 9:30 – 11:30 am

This session will help organizations large and small develop major giving programs. Presenter Scott Lyons oversaw a project that did this for 111 PBS stations. Drawing on project web resources (www.majorgivingnow.org), this session will show participants how to start and manage a successful major giving program, while also giving them knowledge and skills that will make them more valuable to current and future employers.
