Harvest for the Hungry

By Molly McGlinchy March 1, 2012

Safeway and Coldwell Banker are teaming up to support the Capital Area Food Bank through the 26th Annual Harvest for the Hungry Food Drive. From March 3rd through March 10th, you can help make a difference in the lives of those who suffer from hunger by:

  1. Visiting your local Safeway store, purchasing a prefilled bag of groceries from the Harvest for the Hungry display table and placing the bag in a Capital Area Food Bank collection box at the front of the store. Each bag contains Toasted Oats cereal, canned veggies, canned tomatoes, peanut butter, chunk light tuna, and long grain rice.
  2. Dropping off a donation at your local Coldwell Banker office. Please call ahead to make sure the office is open and collecting donations!

By choosing one of these two easy options and participating in the Harvest for the Hungry Food Drive, you can help provide much needed food for our neighbors. Currently 641,000 people in the Washington metro area are at risk of hunger, 1 in 5 are children.
